19.5] On Toleration, Voltaire
Comment on Voltaire's idea of religious faith and toleration.
I agree with Phylis about "An address to the Diety". This was a plee to God that people can put their pety differences to the side and Tolerate each other even if their beliefs aren't the same. He says "Deign to look with an eye of pity upon the errors annexed to our natures! let not these errors prove the sources of misery to us!" I think what he is asking of God is to gives us the strength to be good people and not destroy each other. He goes on to say that we are not given hearts to hate or hands to kill each other.
